1Sky Florida began in August 2007 as a bold initiative to make global warming a priority issue for voters and the candidates prior to the Presidential Primaries in Florida in January 2008. We held a rally on November 26, 2007 - just 2 days before the National CNN/Youtube Republican Debate in St. Petersburg, Florida -  with guest speakers demonstrating their leadership on global warming action and reiterating the importance of federal legislation!

Univision held a Republican Debate on December 9, 2007 in Coral Gables, Florida.  1 Sky activists were there, demanding attention for global warming, chanting "NO CARBON NUEVO!" "UN CIELO!" "CLIMA ACCIONES AHORA!" [..."NO NEW COAL!" "1 SKY!" "CLIMATE ACTION NOW!"]
